Juicy garnet in color with fresh aromas of rose hips and peppery spice against a background of tart cherry and raspberry aromas. Tart and fruity flavors with a nicely structured mid palate and lingering finish.
Grilled Italian sausages and vegetables, Cioppino, sausage and lentil stews, spaghetti with meatballs, blue or herbaceous cheeses.
80% Barbera, 10% Zinfandel, 5% Sangiovese, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. 2017 was a slightly different vintage for Amador grapes; the fruit reached physiological ripeness with less sugar than normal, presenting our winemakers with new opportunities, and ultimately producing a wine that's a little less fruit forward than usual. We source from a block of Barbera grown creekside, which generally produces a medium-bodied, less concentrated wine. We blended with a selection other varieties before barreling for a little more depth in the final wine.
Aged for 28 months second year French Oak.
